Golden Hour Kansas City Engagement Session

Have you ever witnessed a love so pure and joyful that it seems to radiate from the couple? Same, same. That was my time with Jordyn and Luke during our recent outdoor early summer Kansas City engagement photoshoot.

As we began the photoshoot, I think I commented, "Welp, nevermind! I don't need to pose you at all!" as they effortlessly fit into one another. Their genuine smiles, giddiness in being together. It was as if there was a 'yes! we're doing this!' celebratory countenance underlying the entire shoot. They laughed, they danced, they giggled; they simply enjoyed each other's company in the most effortless way.

We began at a Kansas City favorite - Loose Park. After walking through the rose garden and snuggling on the stairs (them, not me haha), we headed to the open park space for some golden hour dancing and laughter. As Jordyn was in a hip-hop group at University of Kansas, it was only right we got some dance time in!

After Loose Park, we headed to downtown Kansas City for part two of our engagement photoshoot. As the sun was setting, the brick of the surrounding buildings popped with that early-summer golden glow. The T-Mobile Center to the north, the Kauffman Center of Performing Arts to the west, the infamous 'Western Auto' sign to the south - does it get more Kansas City than that? We continued to capture Jordyn and Luke's playful, comfortable, and joy-filled dynamic as the sun set on a wonderful evening of celebration and play.

While culling through this engagement session, I was so overcome with the wholesome beauty of their relationship. The way Luke looks at Jordyn when she's not looking. The way they fit together effortlessly. How their playful, wholesome energy simply radiates. No phony posing. No inauthentic trends. Just simply BEING themselves in their relationship. What an absolute gift to witness.
